Myles Smith - Sergeant

Served in the United States Army in the39th Infantry Regiment- 1st Regiment during WWII as a Lineman 641 7 MI Rifle MK

During his service he served in Priem-Bad Abling, Germany. He worked as Battalion Wire Chief leading a crew of ten enlisted men engaged in Laying, maintaining and taking up wires and cable telephone lines. On occasion he laid electric wire lines and requisitioned supplies for his crew and operated a field telephone when necessary.

Occupation: Photo Engraver's helper, Sun-Telegraph until it became Post Gazette. Retired from Post Gazette at age 64. Worked 50 yrs with Newspaper as Photo Engraver
