Michael Egan - Marine Corps SergeantKilled In Action: Sept 19, 2005 Hometown: Philadelphia, PA Age: 36 Egan was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Bliss, Texas. He died Dec. 12 of injuries sustained when a rocket-propelled grenade struck his vehicle during a convoy security mission in Mosul, Iraq. Egan served in the Marine Corps for nine years before joining the National Guard in 2003. He was a veteran of the Persian Gulf War, and a recipient of the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart, among numerous other military awards.  |
