Booth served in the European Theater in the United States Army Air Force in the 458th Bomb Group (H) 8th USAAF during WWII.

During his service he received a Distinguished Flying Cross and Distinguished Service Cross while serving as the following MOS:1051-1092-1024-1035-2161. He later retired from the Air Force Reserves in March1968.
