Weapons Policy
Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall & Museum Trust, Inc. reserves the right to update or amend this policy at any time.
*In this policy “weapons” include, but are not limited to, guns (both rifles and pistols), knives or swords with blades over four inches in length, explosives, chemical or biological weapons, and any other weapon designed or intended to inflict injury or to cause harm or death to another person*.
Private businesses such as Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall & Museum Trust, Inc. must adopt rules to ensure a safe environment for staff, vendors, event clients and visitors. Therefore, Soldiers & Sailors expressly prohibits unauthorized, illegal, and non-permitted weapons* to be brought into our facility and onto our property. Further, we strongly suggest patrons refrain from bringing any type of permitted weapon into our facility, even if that patron holds a legally issued permit from Pennsylvania or any other state [The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania requires a license to carry a concealed weapon (Pennsylvania License to Carry Firearms, SP 4-129(1-2010). This license is commonly referred to as a Concealed Carry Permit, or CCP].
In addition, Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall & Museum Trust, Inc. holds a Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board-issued Public Venue Restaurant Liquor License permitting the sale of alcohol and liquor on our premises. While Pennsylvania state law does not expressly prohibit the carrying of weapons/firearms while consuming alcohol and/or while occupying the premises of an establishment or venue actively engaged in selling alcohol, Soldiers & Sailors believes it is most prudent and supportive of a safe and threat-free environment to request that staff, vendors, event clients and visitors refrain from carrying weapons/firearms while on our premises, touring our museum exhibits, and attending and engaged in our events.
