What: D-Day Pittsburgh 75 Commemoration

When: June 6th, 2019,  Ceremony: 9:30AM

Who: Partnership: Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall & Museum AND Pittsburgh Chapter of Pets for Vets at Animal Friends

Where: Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall & Museum Front Patio (Inclement Weather: Auditorium)

Ceremony will include the following:

  1. Color Guard, National Anthem and Invocation
  2. Curator, Michael Kraus will speak about the importance of D-Day and highlight the story of John Pinder who received the Medal of Honor on D-Day. The medal is now a part of the collection at Soldiers & Sailors. We will be honored to have members of the Pinder family in attendance.
  3. Recognition of Glenn Kempf, D-Day veteran who helped set-up the first hospital on Omaha Beach.
  4. Proclamations to be read by County Executive Rich Fitzgerald and Mayor William Peduto
