This rain or shine event is FREE and open to the public. Honor those who have served our country at our annual Memorial Day Celebration.
At 11am we begin the day with a ceremony paying tribute to our fallen PA service members from the war on terrorism.
In recognition of the 75th anniversary of D-Day, Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall & Museum presents a special exhibit highlighting artifacts from the museum’s collection that have a relevant connection to this historic event. The display is in exhibit number 20 which is located in the North Hall.
Throughout the afternoon enjoy family-friendly activities like crafts, face painting, balloon art and a bouncy house. Try your luck at winning a prize at one of our afternoon contests. reasonably priced BBQ favorites hot off the grill from Pgh Barbeque Company, as well as cold beverages, desserts and other novelties.
At 3pm our ensemble- in- residence, The Brass Roots, will perform a live concert featuring patriotic classics and a military medley, followed by Taps to close out the day.
Veteran Community Tables include Pittsburgh Hires Vets, Friends of Pittsburgh Fisher House, Dept of Military & Veterans Affairs and Operation Troop Appreciation. Operation Troop Appreciation will be conducting a collection drive onsite. All items collected are used for Active-Duty Wish-List and Veteran Welcome Home Programs.
