The 28th Infantry Division is currently a unit of the United States Army National Guard and is the oldest division-sized unit in the US Army. Nicknamed the “Keystone” or “Bloody Bucket” division, it was officially organized and redesignated from earlier PA National Guard units for World War I on October 11, 1917. Serving in WWI, WWII and the War on Terror, the 28th is also one of the most decorated infantry divisions in the United States Army. This program will highlight artifacts and stories from the museum’s collection related to the Keystone Division.
